What is Let It Go Yoga and why is Let It Go Yoga different than other styles of yoga?

Let It Go Yoga is a unique yoga experience as the entire practice is done lying down. It it a series of 26 connected postures that are practiced with your eyes closed allowing for an inner focus. Let It Go Yoga incorporates deep breathing, meditation, affirmation and time in each pose to safely work with your body to release tension and stress.

Is Let It Go Yoga easy?

It sounds easy and some of the postures are considered easy but most students will find some aspects of the practice to be challenging. Since everyone is different, every pose has a variation and each pose can be adjusted to fit your personal needs. The postures are designed to find the places in your body that need to be more open. Each posture can be modified to be comfortable enough to hold the pose for two minutes, giving your body time to let go and your mind time to consciously relax.

Why is this practice accessible for most students?

If you can lie down you can do this practice. We give instruction on taking care of your personal needs to ensure the safest and most effective practice. If getting up and down from the floor is challenging, you can practice Let it Go Yoga on a bed or futon. Simple props, such as blankets, towels and straps can be used to allow more comfort in each pose.

What is the advantage of a supine practice?

When you are lying down you can relax onto the mat and allow your body to rest comfortably. Lying on your back allows your back and neck to be supported, promoting good postural alignment.

In a supine position it is easier to breathe more fully and have more awareness and control of your breath.

Let It Go Yoga is meant to be practiced with your eyes closed. This gives you an opportunity to let go of the outside world and discover your inner guidance. Letting go of outside distractions allows you to drop into a meditative state, release built up stress and thoughts that no longer serve you.
