38 years ago this September, Jim and I recorded our Let It Go Yoga class on cassette. (remember those?)
It was the beginning of our journey together as teachers. We made a commitment to share this unique style of yoga that had benefited us so much. We are here to support you every step of the way. We can’t wait to have more teachers sharing this much needed practice. We thank all of our students and student teachers who have studied with us and have shared this practice all over the world.
Here are 10 great reasons to teach this amazing practice!
1. Let It Go Yoga is a unique style of hatha yoga that is practiced lying down. It is a gentle yet challenging class that serves a wide audience. We teach variations that will help you to assist your students with an accessible, safe and effective class.
2. Even though the Let It Go Yoga practice is a series of specific poses, this practice is well suited to do over a lifetime as it can be changed and modified as needed. Students love this sustainable practice and will come back to your classes for years.
3. It gives your students more than a physical practice. Let It Go Yoga incorporates a mind/body experience that helps heal emotions and release stress.
4. Let It Go Yoga can open doors to adventures. We have taught in many different venues! Not only yoga studios but you can offer Let It Go Yoga retreats, teach in health clubs, hotels, at the beach or park. We have even taught classes in a salt cave!
5. You can combine your passions if you would like to! Our teachers have taught Let It Go Yoga for Golfers, Athletes, Actors, Seniors! It’s a great way to form a like minded community.
6. You can teach Let It Go Yoga at any age or phase in your life. We have found that our teachers come from a variety of backgrounds. We have college students, parents, business owners, artists, dancers and everything in between, offering successful classes in their communities.
8. You do not have to be super flexible to become a Let It Go Yoga teacher. We believe that a good teacher needs to be able to work with varying degrees of flexibility, including your own! We have found that the most compassionate teachers have some difficulty with aspects of their own practice. Our teachers are real people that can relate to others.
9. It’s very rewarding to make a difference in someone’s life! Every student is a teacher for you to learn from in some way. We love our students and have learned so much from our time together.
10. Best of all, we offer this certificate training in an 8 week online course. Online classes are great as you can review that material anytime and on your own schedule. All you need is an internet connection and the ability to download/print materials. You will need the following props: A yoga mat, blankets and a yoga strap. You will also need a space where you can lie down and stretch in all directions and at least one student to work with, either in person or through Zoom or other live video. Sue Anne and Jim are here to help every step of the way.
