This week I got to fly to Sacramento to teach yoga at the State Council for Developmental Disabilities conference. My twin sister Emily traveled with me and assisted me during my class. We had a great time, even though it was pouring rain the whole time we were there! We walked through the puddles downtown and saw lots of cool places to eat and drink on the first day we arrived. We found lots of amazing places to take yoga photos!
The next morning, we got up early to teach a class for the attendees of the conference. We had a private room in the hotel where the event was taking place and yoga mats that were donated for us to use. It was the perfect morning for inclusive yoga. I asked what every member of the class was grateful for, and we all shared what felt special to us in that moment. I was happy that my sister and I were able to travel together and make this class happen. The class was really fun and went by quickly. Everyone was willing to try new poses and practice the ones that they did know. I was so glad I got to meet new people, introduce them to my style of yoga and see their reactions to my class.

After the class, all of the students started their day at the conference while Emily and I recorded a podcast! We were both asked to be on Voices of Yoga, a podcast that showcases inspiring yoga stories. We chatted about our background and the yoga quotes that inspire us today. I’m sure it will be out soon!
We spent a little more time in Sacramento before taking our flight back home. It was a great trip and I’m so happy that I was able to share my love of yoga with more people. I am always happy when I’m teaching yoga and I love traveling to new places as well! Until next time, Sacramento!
