Yoga studios and yoga teachers initially were one of the many industries that were negatively impacted by the pandemic. Making a living as a yoga teacher seemed more difficult than ever with important social distancing measures in place. Thankfully, yogis around the world found that it was a good time to expand skill sets and re-evaluate goals. Many corporate studios offer 200, 300, and even 500 hour teacher trainings with no guarantee that you can work in their studio once you have completed the course. There is also pressure on teachers to sell the studio’s merchandise and workshops. This business model is necessary to pay the high rents of a large space but realistically cannot have the teachers’ or the students’ best interests at heart.

The pandemic allowed us to reevaluate our previous methods and put yoga teaching back into the hands of the yoga teachers!
